I have designed an Access 97 application for my sister-in-law's library.
It is a very personal and unusual book collection so I have had to invent 30 personalised subject categories each of which has similarly personalised sub-categories.
The item entry screen is a two-tabbed tab control with item details on page 1 and associated subject category entries on page two.
Page 1 controls (in tab order)are:-
1 item ID (autonumber)[no tab stop]
2 title (text)
3 notes, volume nos, etc (memo)
4 publisher (combo) [query for publisher full name & place]
5 year (text)
6 format (combo) [format table]
7 biographical subject (combo) [query for subject's full name]
8 sub-form authors(datasheet) [query on link table books-authors returning full name]
page 2 controls are 30 combos for 30 categories each having sub-categories [category tables]
My question is:-
What's a simple way of completing page 1, automatically quitting the author subform, and automatically going to page 2 for item classification? (same item number of course)
Remember that there may be more than one author for any one item which complicates matters.
Everything else works okay and looks quite pretty but I have not been able to achieve this smooth transition between pages.
Thanks for your attention, Norman.
